Earlier this month, the DigiStory project team gathered in the vibrant city of Sofia, Bulgaria, for a transnational project meeting that was not only productive but also deeply inspiring. Hosted by our Bulgarian partners, this in-person exchange allowed us to take stock of our journey so far and collaboratively shape the next steps of our mission to empower social enterprises through digital storytelling.
Over the past months, our partnership has been hard at work. Together, we successfully organized a round table and two rounds of national workshops in both Bulgaria and the Netherlands. These activities brought together aspiring and early-stage social entrepreneurs, who explored the power of storytelling as a tool for visibility, engagement, and impact.
During the meeting in Sofia, we engaged in a critical evaluation of these national activities. We discussed what worked well — from the participatory methods and storytelling exercises to the powerful personal stories that emerged — and where we could improve. Participants’ feedback helped us refine our approach and confirmed the value of combining digital tools with personal narratives to communicate the social mission behind their initiatives.
But the highlight of our meeting was looking ahead.
🎯 What’s next?
We are now preparing for our next big milestone:
An international webinar in November, where selected participants from the national workshops will share their storytelling journeys, lessons learned, and the impact they’ve seen since applying storytelling in their social enterprise work. Their voices will offer real-world inspiration for others across Europe and beyond.
In parallel, we are working on:
- Developing a set of open-access digital storytelling resources tailored for social entrepreneurs and youth workers.
- Creating a digital platform to showcase compelling stories from across Europe, amplifying the voices of grassroots changemakers and fostering cross-border collaboration.
The meeting in Sofia reminded us of the power of co-creation, honest reflection, and international solidarity. We are more motivated than ever to help social entrepreneurs tell their stories — not just to be heard, but to inspire action and spark change.
Stay tuned for updates and save the date for our international webinar in November!
